COVID-19 RESPONSE
CAPE TOWN, AUGUST 2020
WATCH THE COVID-19 RESPONSE VIDEO
BACKGROUND
Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus epidemic in South Africa and the national lockdown in March 2020, the board of Lerato’s Hope made the decision to set up a COVID-19 Relief Fund for the purpose of assisting families made more vulnerable through the lockdown. It was also agreed that we would support families through our community partners and that R90 000 be taken from our reserve funds in order to start the fund. Pinelands community donors were invited to add to the fund and we were overwhelmed by the generous response from individuals, local businesses and churches.
Lerato’s Hope’s community service partners are:
-
Thabo Mbeki Community located in Phillipi East, Ward 35, (which would later include the whole of Ward 35 as overseen by the Ward 35 Development Forum).

We as the Leadership of Thabo Mbeki Informal Settlement, on behalf of the community we would like to express our gratitude to you in appreciating your generous contribution of vouchers which were received on the 25 July, 2020 and other previous dates during this difficult time of COVID-19, and being a part of our donor family.
Your support in the form of these vouchers has given hope and humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable families. Your commitment and continued contribution is the reason we are making a positive impact in the lives of the vulnerable families we serve.
Once again, thank you for your kind and generous support.
Yours faithfully
