Beautiful Gate, situated in Crossroads, provides care and support to vulnerable children, while at the same time seeking to restore the capacity of families and the community to care for their children.

Friends of Beautiful Gate (FOBG) was the first ministry launched by Leratos Hope. Lerato was being cared for at Beautiful Gate Child Care Centre as a baby, when the idea of taking the children on outings was born.

Many of these children would have very little possibility of seeing the world outside of the Centre in which they live, but for these types of outings.

Leratos Hope organises volunteers as well as pays for any cost involved in such excursions. The children are taken out in groups every Saturday morning, and enjoy building special relationships with the volunteers, who serve for a year at a time.

The types of places we have been include:

• Two Oceans Aquarium
• Boat Rides at the Waterfront
• Picnics at the beach or Kirstenbosch
• Ice Skating
• Putt-Putt
